Acacia and i plugged the PowerBook into our 36″ TV and watched a whole lot of trailer tonight. 23, I think. Here are some thoughts.
The Departed Scorsese’s name was none too prominent in the trailer. Could this be like the Woody Allen and Spike Lee strategy? Anyway, Leo doesn’t look nearly as annoying as usual in the trailer, Jack looks AWESOME, and a nice surprise was that Martin Sheen in is the movie too. Sweet.
The Prestiege This movie looks capital-g GREAT. The trailer makes it look much cooler than any explanation ever could.
Renaissance It’s all about the visual style. This movie has gorgeous style for days. Of course, the same could be said of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, and that movie was boring as hell.
Babel and The Fountain I’ve seen the same trailers several times and they just keep getting me more excited about these movies.
Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles Looks great. Didn’t know anything about it, but I’m really into it now.
Brothers of the Head looks really, really odd. Not bad, but scary-odd.
The Transformers I can’t say I was really into this trailer before, but Acacia laughed out-loud. That’s not a good sign.
Hollywoodland Got me pretty excited, but cognitively, I’m still not that interested.
A Good Year Has “beggin for Oscars” all over it. Ugh. Ugh. UGH.
Rocky Balboa Um … I’m embarrassed to say I wanna see this. But, how could I not. Like the good Star Wars trailers, it evokes the legends of the past.
Casino Royale Looks awesome and … um … sexy. This trailer should put most people’s doubts to rest.
American Hardcore will KICK YOU ASS!!!
Marie Antoinette I wasn’t too excited about this before, and the trailer REALLY didn’t help. Blech.
