LIttle Me

05.17.2007

We watched the movie Little Children last night. It was pretty amazing. It managed to elicit simultaneous yet conflicting emotional responses from me. There were several moments in which I was just stunned at the bizarre and yet completely earned and believable events unfolding in the movie. The acting was great, it has several dozens of brilliant shots. I don’t hesitate to recommend it to everyone. I think it would have to be squeezed into my 2006 top ten list as well. (It is a 2006 film, right?) Anyway, it was really great.

Anne Bogart’s new book came out yesterday. I’m about half-way through it. It deals with some bigger issues than her last book of essays. There’s more of the world in it, why we bother to do what we do, and how to live in the face of difficulty. It’s quite moving at times, and challenging. I’ll probably read a lot more today and then finish it off tomorrow.

We’re seeing Seth Godin on Tuesday. I hope I get a chance to ask him about arts marketing.
