I’m not a big fan of Facebook lately. It seems to be mostly a forum for kissing ass, bragging, complaining, and wasting time. I know that’s not how you use it, but a lot of other people have kind of ruined it for me lately. I’ve even fallen prey to the trend sometimes. Maybe I just haven’t figured out how to get the most from it.
However, there’s one kind of status update that I really enjoy – the tiny victory.
Like these:
John Dranschak had a productive evening with Eleni working on Stop Sign Language.
Emily Rhodes Appreciates that her schedule has gotten easier, not harder, as the week progresses.
Acacia Duncan finally got that ice cream… Mango Lassi and Chocolate Cornflake Crunch. Yum!
Dan Welsh We found pizza!
Jodie Linver perfect day: Sunday walk to the store, crepes on the back deck, laughter with friends, movie with Viggo Mortensen on the TV and drifting in and out of a nap state. I love today.
So, please: Don’t tell us what you had for lunch, or who you’re having a meeting with, or how fucking busy you are today. Life’s tough all around. But did you just climb a little mountain, are you taking real pleasure in your work, are you in love, are you revealing some new understanding of the universe? Then I’d love to read about it.
Thanks.
